01 Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy describes how ChoirBaton LLC ("ChoirBaton," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you visit our website, create an account, subscribe to ChoirBaton Academy or Institute, make a purchase, listen to our podcast, or otherwise use our services (the "Services"). It works alongside our Terms of Service. By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services.

02 Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: what you give us, what we collect automatically, and what we receive from trusted third parties. Category Examples Information you give us Name, email address, account login details, billing details, and anything you submit in comments, forms, or support requests. Payment information Payment card or billing details, processed by our payment processor (Stripe). We don't store your full card number on our systems. Usage & learning data Courses and lessons you access, progress, and activity within the platform. Device & technical data IP address, browser type, device information, and pages viewed, collected automatically through cookies and similar tools. Information from third parties Limited data from our payment processor, course platform, email, and analytics providers — used to operate and improve the Services. You don't have to give us personal information, but some Services — like subscribing or purchasing — won't work without it.

03 How we use information

We use the information we collect to: Provide, operate, and maintain the Services and your account; Process subscriptions, purchases, renewals, and refunds; Deliver course content and track your learning progress; Respond to your questions and provide support; Send you account, billing, and service-related messages; Send marketing or newsletter emails where you've opted in — you can unsubscribe anytime; Understand how the Services are used so we can improve them; Protect against fraud, abuse, and security risks; and Meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

04 Payments & Stripe

We use Stripe to process payments. When you make a purchase or manage a subscription, your payment details are collected and processed directly by Stripe under Stripe's own terms and privacy policy. Stripe handles your card data in line with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS), and we receive only limited information — such as confirmation of payment and the last four digits and type of card — to manage your account and orders. 05 Cookies & analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, secure the Services, and understand how the site is used. We may use analytics providers to collect aggregated information about traffic and usage. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. If you disable cookies, some features — like staying logged in — may not work properly.

06 How we share information

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run ChoirBaton: Service providers who work on our behalf — our payment processor (Stripe), course and hosting platform, email and analytics tools — under agreements that limit their use of your data; Legal and safety reasons — to comply with the law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of ChoirBaton, our members, or others; Business transfers — if ChoirBaton is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

07 How long we keep it

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as long as we need it for the purposes described here — including providing the Services, resolving disputes, and meeting legal, tax, and accounting obligations. When we no longer need it, we delete or anonymize it.

08 How we protect it

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption across the site and payment processing designed to meet PCI DSS standards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your data, we can't guarantee absolute security. Please help by keeping your login credentials confidential.

09 Your privacy rights Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to: Access the personal information we hold about you; Correct information that's inaccurate or incomplete; Delete your information, subject to legal exceptions; Opt out of marketing emails at any time; Object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us through our Contact page. We'll respond as required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity first. We won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

10 Children's privacy

ChoirBaton is intended for adults. The Services are not directed to children under 18, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

11 International users

We're based in the United States, and we process and store information here. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.

12 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Effective" date at the top and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
