Choir Baton Podcast Episode 26. It's the Most Wonderfully Stressful Time of the Year

choir holiday concert music education music educator Nov 30, 2019

Choir Baton Podcast host and founder, Beth Philemon, shares stories of things gone wrong this time of year for her as a choir conductor in church, school, and community settings. Listen to know you're not alone, listen to laugh along, listen to remember that:

1. you will get it done and if you don't, it will be okay

2. someone will upset you or disappoint you, it will be okay

3. something will go wrong, and it will be okay

4. instrumentalists might not show up or if they do they might not be able to play, and it will be okay

5. you are not perfect, you don't have to be, and quite frankly you shouldn't be

6. someone will not like something creative you do, and it will be okay

7. you will hear choirs (and you should hear choirs) better than you this season, and it will be okay

8. something won't sound good, and it will be okay

9. a singer won't show up, and it will be okay

10. you will look back and remember the good and the bad, and it will be okay

All this and more as Beth shares highs and lows and memories of gratitude from this season as a choir conductor to let you know you are not alone, and ... it will be okay.
